The SLA Management and SLA verification capabilities of the EtherTone™ product portfolio have been expanded with EtherProbe, which conducts real-time, non-intrusive quality of service (QoS) measurements in-line with live customer traffic flows. EtherProbe archives and reports actual measurement results and not approximations.
EtherProbe is offered in EtherProbe 1006 and EtherProbe 2108 series products for Greenfield applications and can be installed as a remote software upgrade on any existing EtherReach 900, 1000 or 2000 series platforms.
EtherProbe has a rich set of QoS Metrics collection and reporting capability, supporting key QoS metrics such as delay, jitter, latency, delay variation and various throughput measures. EtherProbe can also initiate alarm states end-to-end and trigger events for automated port, path and flow protection, empowering carriers to deploy self-healing networks for true carrier grade performance.
For Carriers offering true Carrier Ethernet 2.0 services, EtherProbe generates new revenue opportunities for differentiated managed services. Fully contained in our new EtherProbe 1006 or 2108 platforms or within any existing EtherReach platform, EtherProbe eliminates the need for external data collection tools on either end of the transmission link. EtherProbe provides troubleshooting tools for real-time alarms to the service provider or the customer, by triggering events such as link fault forwarding and link or path protection switching with carrier grade reliability. Furthermore, it maintains wire speed performance with negligible additional overhead thereby ensuring no disruption to customer traffic quality. Experience the power of true Carrier Ethernet 2.0 visibility for your network with EtherProbe. |
