ANDA Networks Launches New EtherReach™ 2000 Series

ANDA Networks has rolled out the EtherReach™ Series 2118 and 2210, the latest additions to the EtherReach™ 2000 product family.  As carriers face increasing demand for advanced packet-based Ethernet services, ANDA's new EtherReach series enables them to easily migrate their frame relay or ATM customers to a native Ethernet service while also seamlessly introducing Ethernet services over a common transport infrastructure.

The new EtherReach series from ANDA is the first platform to offer the Quality of Service (QoS) and rate-limiting granularity in 64 kbps increments that enable service providers flexibility to deliver converged broadband data and IP services within the same bandwidth offerings typically delivered via Frame Relay or ATM services today.  The new EtherReach series supports large-scale migration of legacy network traffic from Frame Relay into Ethernet seamlessly.

“The ability to deploy one platform that adapts to a next-generation service like Ethernet-based data or packetized voice as well as any existing TDM service allows carriers to decrease the cost of deploying new services,” said Charles Kenmore, President and CEO of ANDA Networks.  “Carriers now have a product that allows them to offer multiple service types to further help them differentiate Ethernet private line offerings.”

The new EtherReach 2118 and 2210 deliver Ethernet and TDM service bundles over the existing access infrastructure.  By enabling 128 VLAN and 64kbps policing without requiring expensive and time-consuming new fiber builds, the new product accelerates the migration from circuit to packet-based services by bonding existing T1s or over DS3 into a single virtual transport pipe.  The new unsurpassed VLAN, policing and QoS features support carriers' new converged managed service offerings including VoIP, streaming video, videoconferencing, Ethernet access and remote SAN.

Meanwhile, ANDA has selected Lucent Technologies services arm, Lucent Worldwide Services, to provide global maintenance and deployment services for ANDA's award-winning Metro Ethernet products.

Under the agreement ANDA can now leverage Lucent Worldwide Services to offer its customers access to more than 11,000 network experts, 60 global network call and technical centers, and worldwide sparing, logistics, and depot locations in Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East, Africa, North America, and Central and Latin America regions round-the-clock.

"We are pleased to support ANDA with our deep portfolio of maintenance and deployment services," said Jim Johnson, vice president of Maintenance and Deployment Solutions, Lucent Worldwide Services.  "This arrangement will give ANDA the ability to leverage the breadth and expertise of Lucent's multi-vendor support services globally."

The continued high demand for ANDA's carrier-class EtherTone™ solutions has grown to include not only large North American carrier customers but also support for true global Ethernet service footprints worldwide.  By expanding the delivery capabilities of ANDA's EtherCare™ services with Lucent's global network integration services, ANDA's carrier customers will now have the added flexibility, worldwide support and localized logistics to further scale and enable worldwide carrier Ethernet service deployments.  The comprehensive suite of service offerings available worldwide through the agreement with Lucent, combined with ANDA's award-winning Ethernet products, provide customers a one-stop-shop for carrier Ethernet service deployments.

"The selection of Lucent Worldwide Services is a perfect complement to ANDA," said Greg Allmin, Director of Customer Service for ANDA Networks.  "By working with Lucent, ANDA is positioned to extend world class services to large multinational carriers, thus strengthening our abilities to deliver and support our EtherTone™ products on a worldwide basis.”

Two months back, Rogers Wireless has deployed ANDA EtherTone™™ solutions to deliver converged broadband data and next-gen IP services such as VoIP, streaming video and music over standard Ethernet connections for their customers.  By deploying award-winning ANDA EtherTone™ platforms, Rogers Wireless can cost-effectively upgrade their existing base stations for IP services using ANDA Ethernet over copper solutions.

Based on deployments during the last half of 2005, Rogers has deployed ANDA's EtherTone™ platforms on revenue generating networks across Canada to offer high-speed data and IP services to several Canadian provinces.  In meeting the varying connectivity needs of wireless as well as wireline carriers, ANDA's EtherTone™ solutions are used to connect locations within the same metropolitan area, provinces or states, between Canada and the U.S., or worldwide.  By using ANDA's EtherTone™ platforms carriers now provide scalable, on-demand bandwidth for their business customers with near 100% service availability.

”The market for wireless broadband connectivity is expanding rapidly across Canada, and a significant part of that growth is due to our key partnership with Rogers Wireless to enable cost effective coverage,” said Frasier Moffat, Regional Sales Director, Canada for ANDA Networks.  “As we upgrade their networks to accommodate new enhanced data and video applications such as broadband wireless data, ringtones, music, and video messaging, ANDA's EtherTone™ platforms provide a scalable way to meet our wireless customers' growing needs for cost-effective bandwidth, coverage and mobility.”

ANDA's EtherEdge 4000™ series edge aggregation system and EtherReach 2000™ access platforms give Rogers Wireless the ability to offer a variety of data and next generation IP services, such as VoIP, streaming video and video conferencing, while using a common network infrastructure.
