MCI Deploys ANDA EtherTone™ Solutions to Deliver New Converged Packet Access Service Globally
ANDA Provides an Easy, Cost-Effective Migration Path for Convergence of All Services Over a Simple Ethernet Interface

Sunnyvale, CA, – May 5, 2005 – ANDA Networks, the leader in carrier-class solutions for fiber and copper-based access networks, today announced that MCI, Inc. (NASDAQ: MCIP) is deploying ANDA EtherTone™ solutions to deliver and aggregate scalable, cost-effective Ethernet services for mission-critical business networks.  MCI has deployed ANDA's carrier-class Ethernet access products to achieve the reliability and efficiency of a simple low-cost Ethernet interface over optical fiber-based transport.

Currently, MCI is using ANDA's EtherEdge 4000 series edge aggregation system and EtherReach 2000 series CPE products to carry live traffic between Chicago and New York. As a result of this success, MCI expects to roll out their new CPA service to 24 additional cities by year end.

“As more and more customers adopt packet-based services, CPA is critical to our network strategy,” said Glenn Wellbrock, director of Network Technology Development for MCI.  “ANDA's products are helping us execute the CPA network architecture, which provides such advantages as scalable bandwidth, quicker provisioning, global applicability, a reduced equipment count, and, of course, carrier-class performance.”

ANDA's EtherEdge 4000 edge aggregation platform and EtherReach CPE platform are used to combine traffic originating from large business customers or many small business customers in a multi-tenant business building across a single, secure network access circuit. ANDA Networks' EtherTone™ family of Access and Edge platforms enables MCI to offer Ethernet-based services over existing copper, SONET, and dark fiber networks.  MCI can now leverage its existing TDM network equipment without expensive forklift upgrades through common Ethernet interfaces that provide scalable bandwidth options.

“We're pleased to support MCI's rapid expansion and leadership position in offering Ethernet services to benefit large and small business customers,” said Charles Kenmore, president and CEO of ANDA Networks.  “By deploying our solutions with MCI, ANDA continues to reinforce its leadership in providing carrier-class Ethernet access and aggregation products and support, while helping MCI to realize a rapid return on investment.”

The EtherTone™ solutions provide cost-effective aggregation switching and cross connect for consolidating Managed Ethernet Private line, Transparent LAN, and SAN connections for business customers requiring a simple Ethernet interface at the customer premise with connection into the Packet Switched Network
